Boost gauge spikes?

New to the turbo, running low comp, pistons, 260 mcx reflashed to 14psi. Question is, how many pounds over target is typical before settling to actual boost? Ie; target 14 but hits 17 before settling, is this typical and safe?

You're running the MCX TCV (turbo Control valve)?

I would recomend to edit the boost map to get rid of the overboost condition.

When you hit the trigger, for how long does the boost spike last?

The boost spike is only momentary, have a turbo smart controller. I believe it is little more than a needle and seat. Don't even know where to begin with regards to editing the boost map. Thank you.

-30c minimum boost 7lbs, spikes too 10lbs for a second. Normal?

That is no problem running low comp pistons, and yes that is normal on many MBC's.
