Hey guys,
Just cluing up my turbo kit and accessories.
I have come to the boost gauge, it is an Autometer gauge. In the instructions it says to wire to a 12v source that remains on during start up of the vehicle. This ensures the zeroing boost feature will work, and if not you may have false readings. Just wondering if anyone else came across this before and if so what circuit you tied into.
Thanks for the help!

I tapped into the 12v outlet on the dash for my gauges. It turns on when the key is on so it would be getting power before startup.

The lighter circuit comes on with the key as well. I tapped of a 4 leg lead off the lighter for boost and aft gauges and roll over valve and power supply.
The leads give me a little slack when moving around the hood as getting to the lighter is a pain.

The problem I am having is that the instructions make it seem like I need 2 12v sources. It says the white wire should be spliced into the "dash lighting" and the red wire should go to the ignition.. both are 12v sources.. I was just going to splice into the 12v accessory outlet on the right hand side down by the exhaust. It is easiest thing for me, as I'm mounting my gauges on my handlebars so I can still remove my hood with ease. anyways, will I short anything out with both the white and red wire spliced into the accessory 12v plug? I hope I'm not sounding too confusing.. Thanks for any help.

The dash lighting just sounds like the backlight dimmer. On my innovate it was optional to add the dimmer wire.

Its not optional on the Autometer.. I'm going to cross my fingers and put both of them on the same power wire, and pray it doesn't short. The instructions clearly state two different 12v power supplies, so I guess I should be safe..
I would call. On innovate the wire which dims guage is grounded when not used.
