Bottom A arm messed up?

Went riding yesterday long story short first ride of the season brand new oilite bushings and i hit RR ties stacked up under the snow 10 mph to 0 instantly. My bottom a rms and bottom of the spindle could move back and forth alot. Not good. The mounts on the frame look fine. Bolts where bent. There is alot of room where the bolt goes through the bushing isnt it suppose to be a tight fit?? I need alot of help here fellas. Btw both sides ended up getting messed up.

Looks like you're missing a sleeve. There should be an aluminum sleeve that fits between your bushings. Same inside diameter of the bolt.

SOAB...!!!!!!!!! Them never got installed when i put everything together I bet.

On the positive side.... Everything looks straight. Just get those sleeves in and you'll be good to go.

That sucks basic, hope you didnt bend anything. It also looks like your bushings are cracked or is that just the picture? Hope you can find those sleeves in the left over parts pile

You should have seen the disappointed look on his face when he hit those railroad ties! I am willing to bet a new set of bolts, put the sleeves in, and tighten it back up and everything will be fine.
Might have to adjust the toe in/out but will be ship-shape and good to ride.

Oh I can just imagine, I think I had the same feeling when I skimmed that pole with my ski and bent my sub frame on my last ride last year. Pretty disheartening, parked it and didn't even want to look at it I was so pissed off. This doesn't sound that bad at all, hopefully hes up and running soon.

I found all 4 of them sleeves going to try and press them in tonight orderd 4 new bolts b/c the old ones where kinda bent. I bent the carbide on my sly dog skis. 2nd one! Fricken sick of it im going to try and get a set of pilots.

Shouldn't need to press them in, just clean up the sleeves a bit and they should slide in without a press.

They are going to need a little encouragment

Put some grease on them before you put them in. One less worry

if they need encouragemant then ur arms/bushings may have an issue. I would not press them in because the bushins rotate on the sleeve.

I had to use sand cloth to reduce those sleeves so they fit in the new ulmer bushings....the sleeves are a fairly big portion of the install..
