I have no problem setting the front suspension as it responds about the same as my quad with Elka's. However the rear skid has me boggled. Make one change and it affects everything else. I find my rear skid is kinda bouncy and bottoms over some bumps on the trail. I bought this sled used with 1900 miles. Blocks are on medium. I weigh 180 lbs and 6'3". My XTX last year was not bouncy like this.

I realize there are tons of topics like this and ppl are going to say search, but I need someone to help walk me through this so I can learn how to adjust.

The sled corners really well I find. Sticks well and no inside ski lift.

reduce the preload of the rear springs and increase the compression a bit to help stop tee bottoming.

If I do this, the sled starts to buck. Compression feels good I think. I will try more combo's of this.

when does it buck? over the bumps? if so i would be increasing the compression and rebound to simmer down the springs wild tendancies.

It bucks when I increase the compression and hit a drift or something like the sorts. It does not buck after hitting lots of bumps. It is not bucking right now. Just feels really springy or bouncy and bottoms lots on the trail where they are pounded out.

My 09 standard fx Nytro bucks when I ride it really hard through large, closely spaced moguls as well. No matter what I do with the compression dampening adjustment it is not enough to fix this so it obviously needs a re-valve. I think the problem is the compression is to stiff in the small bumps and the rebound is to fast in all bumps. Does anybody have a valve setup suggestion for the rear gytr shocks that works? I rebuild my own shocks but am not experienced with modifying valving so any suggestions you guys can give would be great (I'm not looking for a place to send them but rather actual valving advice). I have to believe this can be improved with some simple shock changes.

if you have transfer dialed in...the skid isnt coupled and you will notice a bucking feeling on rollers....dial all the transfer out and run the same stretch....also less torsion spring pressure sounds in order

yes transfer is good for traction...and in some situations handling..but having the suspension couple is good for comfort..

I loosened my front rear suspension spring to almost loose between the adjusters and turned in my transfer nuts three full turns to reduce ski lift. Allot of the bounciness went away and the sled has a firm agressive ride with very little bottoming. Sled handles the corners great now too, because of the reduced ski lift. Stays planted in the corners.

Now with my triple rate springs and pilot skis. The sled corners great, takes all kinds of bumps great, and the over all ride is good.
