2006 Apex RTX
I noticed years ago that ROCKERDAN removed fins on brake. Since I hardly use the brakes; because of engine braking; I removed them from my first Apex. I'm wondering how many people have done this & what's the opinions out there. In theory the fins would be rotational "friction" like rotating mass, but might be sooo insignificant that it's not worth it. The fins cool the brakes & also direct air to the radiator. Any thoughts?
I tried one of those light weight brake hubs on an older 600 vmax I had, there was no difference with less "rotating mass". If anything you'll have more power keeping the sled cooler with the extra air blowing on the radiator with the fins.

I'm with Guardrail on this one. Those fins are re-directing cool air to keep brakes cool. There are better places to drop weight IMHO that the brake rotor.
