Broke busted Rear Ohlins. Been done before?

Let us know what you plan to do. I'd say your choices are:
1. Fix the shock. If you do this, I'd take bjowett's advice and revalve the shock and add the PDS.
2. Buy a replacement Ohlins. But then you'd still probably want to re-valve to be safe and have a better ride.
3. Buy a different shock.

Good luck dude, and please let us know how it all turns out.

Anyone have any parts sleds with a shock or a parts shock they would be willing to sell lol... urgh I just didn't need this right now. Hell id be happy with the Apex ER shock at this point.....

shock disassembly

Well here are some pictures of the shock now. looks like the only main damage was to the shock body. The shaft is still straight. Who wants to fix this up for me?!?!?!

If you find an ER shock, have Pioneer revalve it - my buddies works real nice. Of course you'd have to cut a hole in your tunnel for the adjuster.

I'd get the BJowett PDS upgrade if money is not a concern. I would love ride one with that getup.

I had Pioneer revalve mine this year and it works much better than stock, if you don't want to pop for the PDS I'd go that route.

You a longtime Sparta resident? My bro lived there and was a teacher at Melrose Mindoro (I think that's what it was called) for years (died in 2004.)

Call Brain Jowett and talk to him. He can get you about any progressive stack valving you want. Or give him your sled, weight and riding style and he wil taylor a valve stck to match. Obviously Pioneer and Carver arealso very good and any of the 3 will fix that shock.

But since the shock will be out for a week anyways, I'd also have the Progressive Dampening System installed on the shock.
It's the real deal.

you can also send the shock to carver performance they are close to you and they will fix it and revalve it

shock

Found a shock from a fellow TYer out of a 2009 I am going to buy. I am thinking that the shaft might also have to be replaced on my busted one because there are a few little scratches down on the bottom near the piston. So I don't want to chance the seal wearing out right away.
