Just curious to see how many others have broken their front Pivot arm (commonly called "W" arm) in their Monoshock suspension. Post up your details/stories. Did they cover it under warranty?

I will go first. Just busted mine on my '07 Attak GT with 4,600 miles, along with a few other suspension components that are damaged as a result. I am keeping the faith that Yamaha will cover everything under my 5 year Y.E.S. Just dropped it off at the dealer this morning so looking to hear word from the dealer soon.

Just toasted mine this weekend with 6200 on the sled. Good news is it did not strand me and we were able to get it back 60 miles without it breaking both sides completely off.
I'm not sure if this is caused by bottoming the susp. and or full transfer setting on the rod, but I do bottom out and have had the transfer on full for about 1/2 the miles on it.
I go 260 w/gear and am set on the second spring clip.
Anyone know if these were reinforced in later models.
Mine is an 08 model vector built in 06.

Mine broke on my 06 Attak. 10,700 miles. Shock has the bigger spring (not big boy) and has been revalved for my weight. I ordered the upgraded one for $308.84 from Port Yamaha. It also came with a new limiter strap which I needed as mine had a piece missing. Probably due to the W-arm breaking. I am very impressed with the upgraded piece. Even my untrained to welding eye can see that it has been significantly strengthened.

My buddy had a 06 Attak and his also broke this season with 7500 miles. He also weighs about 300. I'm about 240.

Pics are of mine....

Mine broke at around 4000 miles and I replaced it with the newer heavyduty one. The newer one is built heavier, the tubing is a larger diameter and reinforced where it bolts to the rails. The older limiter strap will not workon the one new pivot arm .The top holes do not line up, because of the larger diameter tubing.
