Anyone else with a 2014 SR Viper LTX SE have any issues with their rear shocks? About 2 weeks ago on groomed trails I had the front one in the rear skid break. Looks like the top of the shock unscrewed. Then while up in Canada last weekend I had the rear shock absorber break as well, the trails were absolutely beautiful. This has ruined my track as well. I by no means have ever beat on this sled. So far Yamaha has denied the shock absorber claim but not the front shock one yet. Still waiting not a happy camper at all! Looks like Yamaha is refusing to stand behind their product!

Aren't the vipers assembled by cat? In fact most of it is a cat? as a long time Cat trasher...mainly because of their obvious quality control methods...eh...never mind...lol.

The rear shock on the SE has a larger shaft dia. Than the LTX DX. There are some other posts regarding rear shocks breaking but not the center shock

Have seen center shocks rip apart from stretched Limiter straps. Check them. Shock cannot be fully extended before limiters stop it.

Just got off phone with customer relations and not in so many words they told me to go pound salt and are not going to cover anything. I think it is time for me to get off the Yamaha band wagon and start riding something else. I have spent at least $40,000 dollars with Yamaha in the past 6 years and this is how they treat their customers?

I could be wrong but I don't think anyone covers shocks under warranty? I do remember seeing that in the fine print of my yes coverage for my Apex. Funny thing was my dealer convinced me to purchase the yes coverage because of the replacement cost of the Megafloat shock. I guess he didn't realize it wasn't covered !

I think the nut come off the top and let the oil out. I did not pull it apart to check just sent it to the dealer.

A 1 inch open end wrench fits that seal head. Crank it tight. Not possible to Loctite. But check the straps.

Your first line of defense on warranty is your dealer. Dealers input is often critical in warranty coverages.
