Very nice area. We received 2 ft. of snow before christmas and right before New Years it warmed to about 40 degrees and it settled a lot. Right before the warming the groomers were out and they closed the trails and three days after the warm up the trails were back open and we've gotten about 10 inches of snow since then. So the base should stick around for a real long time. I love the variety of riding here!

Where can a person pick up a trail map and where is a good spot to unload and start to ride from?

I live in Arcadia which is in Trempealeau county and you go through town and there is a Y and you can stay in trempealeau or jump over to buffalo. Both counties have nice trails. I know there is a bar in between Arcadia and Centerville called The Tamarack and a few people unload there and the trail is right across the road from it. Otherwise I've seen people unload in Trempealeau and from there you can ride in the county or go south into Lacrosse county although i'm not sure how the trail conditions are there. If you need anymore questions answered let me know and I'll do the best I can to answer them.

oh and at most Y's there are mail boxes with maps otherwise most bars have them available. Another good unloading spot could be the Jailhouse Saloon in Centerville WI. Very nice place and trail goes right to it. Not to mention a gas station is like 100 ft from it.
