Anyone ever try the bug eyes rear view mirror for your helmet? I saw a post in reference to them and I checked them out. Kind of goofy looking but I guess they work good. Any thoughts? Bugeyes.com

I have used them for years on both sleds and bikes. They're great! I have always had mirrors on my sleds, but my new Apex GT will not get them. No vibration, headlight glare, are always adjusted to the perfect position and are nearly indistructable. This is one of the best accessories that a trail rider could have. $10....

I used them for two years until I fell off my sled and they both exited my helmet. I agree with leaddog. I also think they look kinda cool. The only thing I have to say on the negative side is since they're so close to your eyes, it takes a bit longer to adjust your eyes to view the object. Also, sometimes it takes a bit of movement from your head to get the object your looking for in the mirror. Often I'd have them adjusted so when looking in the right hand mirror, I'd have to slant my head a bit and to the right to see who was behind me. I'll be getting two more this year.

You can also do a dealer search on this website and it will tell you who sells them. There are several places across the states. I called one place in Michigan (Waterford I think) and they were selling them 'buy one get one half off', and buy two, get one free'; something like that.

By having them adjusted so you have to slightly turn your head to see behind you guarantees that you won't get headlights in them. As far as falling off, I have had one glue failure in a hot car in the summer, but in the cold they really stick well. I know that the glue formula has changed this year and if you have had one come off, just e-mail the company and they will send you new adhesive disks. These guys are really great. "www.bugeyes.com" I believe that the 3rd-eye.com product was designed for bicycles, where BUGEYES were developed for sleds first and they fit on all snowmobile helmets.

Yea, those adhesive pads are really good. On my SRX with the low windshield, I was doing 110 on my GPS and they held firm and the mirror/socket never budged. So speed isn't a problem either.

Just ordered 2. Hope they are as good as they sound. I used a wrist mirror in the past and hated it. Also never had much use for the standard hood mount mirrors. I'll report back this winter on their effectiveness.
