I have been riding a new light weight rear skid from Bully Dog for a while now. I told them that if I liked it I would share that here. Well.... I love it. The ride is much improved. The weight transfer is great and I'm not sure how with improved weight transfer it does it, but I don't have the wheelie problems with the turbo anymore.

It also seems to be stronger than the other aftermarket suspension I used to run. Some of you may remember that I broke that one 3 times. I have yet to break this one and I have frankly ridden it much harder.

The new skid saves 24 lbs without drop down brackets and 6 more with drop downs.

The skid is $995 and drop downs are $125. The price them seperately because many people have already bought drop downs.

If you are looking for a new skid consider the Bully Dog.

Nice looking skid. I was just out at Bully Dog last week bs'ing about my new diesel. A great group of people out there. Nobody mentioned a new skid for sleds, and I musta talked sleds for an hour with the salesmen.

Talk to Michael. He is one of the owners. Sledding is his pasion. He does turbos skids etc as more of a side line.

Unfortunately the suspensions are not online. :(

You can call and talk to Michael about them though if you want. Or I can try and answer some of the basic questions.

They should get into sledc turbo's now that they are fuel injected, they sure do wonders to turbo diesel trucks!

what is the actual wieght have you had it on a scale, I had a mountain performance that they said was around forty pounds actaul was 58lbs. and that was with thier billet rails everything except ti springs.

Snowy,

I did not weigh the entire skid. I replaced an MPI rear with this one. This one was over 8 lbs lighter than the MPI I took out.

Michael is claiming 30 lbs loss with the drop downs and so is MPI yet Michael's is 8 lbs lighter. Go figure.

Crazy, My Holz with ti springs and no bogies was 44lbs... Would like to try the Bully Dog, sounds sweet.

For $995 you basically get all of the blue stuff in my pic, the rear Fox shock, and some misc hardware. You re-use your rails, front shock, and wheels. To go 162 you still need rail extensions. He did not do one piece rails as they are quite expensive and not many sell.

All of the blue parts are chrome moly and I think they are actually grey now as he felt that was a more stealth color.

P.S. If you introduce me to your avatar I can probably get you a discount! :drink:

Looks like the best price and quality option for us 03 or 04 Mtn owners.
Question, does it have zerks for greasing and are real limiter straps like the mountain performance transfer kit required?

Yes it has grease zerks and you re-use the factory straps without the adjustment hardware.
