hey guys, I’m looking at purchasing a Viper for my wife to drive, it’s a ‘14 LTX SE. she wants to upgrade from her 05 F7 and I think this viper would be a good machine. Any thing I should look out for? Any input is appreciated

Both my wife and i have
a 14 both been flawless! Funny my wife came off a f7 also! I good set of carbides and a suspension adjustment and she is good to go!
My wife missed the sound of her f7 so she added a pipe!

Get it reflashed if it hasn't been For the hard start issues.
Or you will be sorry.

Im still on the fence with flash!!!!
I have 2 14's and both start right up no issues[/QUOTE
Yeah most the time they will start cold. seems they have the kickbacks and wont start once they are hot.

Actually 15's and 16's had the kickbacks more than 14's. 14's had no start when hot and sitting for a bit ,codes that would come up for no reason and would go to a low idle out of the blue. Some also did blow starter gears but less than newer sleds. Anyway the first flash fixed the codes, low idle and hot start issue. There have been 3 flashes after I believe. Crazy!

If your not having any issues then dont do it, newest flash takes 2 attemps to start almost every time unless you give a little gas while cranking, i suppose your out of warranty or about to be, id leave it alone, i never had any issues with my 15

Which ones had the high idle?

Yup and people would keep cranking the 14s and blow the starter or strip gears when it didnt start.

If starter blows i will pull motor to replace and add a head shim;)

Last winter mine took two attempts to start with the most recent flash. This fall all of a sudden it has started on the first attempt every time. I have stared it probably 6-8 times all on separate days and temps ranging from 40-60 degrees. Cranks for a couple seconds and fires right up and runs. Not sure what has changed other than I put 600 miles on the new flash. Hopefully it keeps firing up on the first attempt in colder weather.

Its 14,15 and 16's that blew starters and gear. It came from kickback supposedly and the one I saw go it happened within a second of turning key.

Mine only takes two times to start when the motor temp is under somewhere around 80 degrees. Other than that it fires right up first try with the latest flash.
