I've been using a bv2s helmet the past few years and like it. On occassion the helmet has fogged in the right conditions. I cracked the shield last week and decided to upgrade to the heated visor. Rode last night in some freezing drizzle and had the front of the shield ice over. I was actually excited for once and pulled over and grabbed my cord and plugged in the helmet. Much to my dissapointment, the shield did not clear up. I checked the connections in the helmet and the fuse on my vector and all were good. The shield should melt the ice on the outside of the shield correct? Any ideas where else to look before I take it back.

Any of the heated shields I used on HJC helmets before going to my BV2S (without heated shield) were not hot enough to stop freezing mist or rain on the outside. At the most, it may keep it soft enough to easily wipe off. The heated shield is to keep moisture from condensing on the inside and fogging up only.

Ok...Thanks wasn't sure. Went out and plugged it in and tested it again. The inside lens is slightly warm to the touch but, the outside is cold. I also think there may be a leak between the lenses. Looks a little cloudy when wearing.

Its not totally related to your issue but my BV2S recently has started letting UP snow dust in and freezing to the INSIDE of the shield. Talk about living on the edge, 250hp, 100 mph, iced over windshield...my middle name is dangerous..

I wonder if there is a seal that needs to be changed. I was thinking of going heated if it would eliminate the problem but maybe not now?
