I have tried a lot of different skis and wear bar combos. I think I finally found my setup. This past weekend I added 9" deuce shaper bars to my C&A XTX skis on my Nytro XTX.
This combo took a little of the edginess off the sled and just flat out worked. Making it little less aggressive actually allowed me to drive faster with less effort and more control. If anybody is running these skis I would strongly recommend to try the Deuce.

Are you having any darting with that set up? I have the same ski with 6 in shaper.

I have the exact same setup as LeeKo, and love it! Found it to be, in my opinion, the perfect ski/carbide combo for my sled. The only complaint with this setup is that the bar sticks down so far in front and likes to catch on stuff...railroad crossing, bridges, trailer.

Do experience any darting with that setup?

Very minimal darting whatsoever. The only darting that I get is those mornings where the trails are hard, but there's deep ruts in them from the day before, but I dont think any ski would solve that. Steering effort seems pretty good as well.

Thanks guys, I was going to buy some Bergstrom ski saver but I will try this set up instead.

It should be more dart resistant with theses carbides however, I didn't really have any darting issues with the xtx skis prior. Suspension setup/distribution play a huge part in these machines handling. For instance, less front end preload and more center spring will also reduce darting and decrease steering effort.
I can't tell you how many different setups I have tried to make this sled work right. I am on my 4 th season on this model. I love the challenge and have become quite the perfectionist when it comes to the setup. This sled has been one of the most difficult to get just right with no compromise.
