Hi all,
A guy on the local Craigslist has a set of saddlebags for sale I may pick up if I'm reasonably sure they'll fit my '06 Venture. He doesn't list any kind of model number, but says they were for a '95 Phaser. I don't have access to my sled right now, so I'm wondering if someone can take a measurement or give an opinion by looking at the attached picture.
The seller says there is 20 inches of fabric separating the bags. I'm thinking it would be possible to remove the rear seat and run the fabric portion underneath, then re-install the rear seat. Thoughts? Thanks a bunch.

I think you would be better off buying the proper bags.unless they are dirt cheap. By the time you fiddle around trying to make them work you can be out riding. My experience tells me you end up with more problems in the long run. Thats just my opinion.

Thanks Oldguy. You have a great point (and I've experienced that too), however I kind of like the "soft" luggage instead of the reinforced stuff that Yami has listed for my year Venture. If these would fit reasonably well, I think I'd really like them. Anyone else care to comment?

I have the ridgid ones that are made for the venture and I love them.. the soft ones are easier to pucture (if you carry tools) and they wear easy if they touch the running boards. the fit super tight and snug so no movement. get the right ones and you wont have to fiddle. I agree with oldguy2.

Thanks Sounder, those are some nice looking bags. I don't think you mention in the thread you linked, but I assume you're happy with the fit of the bags even though they're not specifically designed for your sled?

Yes they fit great. The rack helps but you would be fine without it.
