Hi guys. I am currently running a 03'rx1mnt with a nx wet system. I am thinking about getting a supercharger. I checked the nos forum and went back about thirty pages in the turbo/supercharger section. Didn't see anything current on the subject. Is anybody out there running a supercharger and nos in everyday riding situations. Would appreciate any up to date info.

I know Hammer started out ueing something like a 5 hp #*$&@ to help keep the IC cooler. I think he is now up to something like a 50 hp shot.

Search key word: Nitrous
search author : Hammer

Hope this helps....

Ironman Irmen was running a turbo with nitrous and meth injection last year. You might check it out too.

I ran a front mount turbo with 50 hp. shot no problems, these sleds love n20 with forced induction. I was going to try 100 hp. last year but never got enough snow befor I sold the sled. 18-22 lbs with a 50 hp. shot pulls hard.

I have a alpine turbo with a wet nos system and meth injection on my daily rider. The nos is setup on the throttle to come on, and shuts off with a hobbs switch at 8 lbs. I currently have a 60 shot and I use it for the absolute best throttle response you have ever felt on a turbo, honestly my sled has ZERO lag. With the wet system you can activate the nos and the sled wants to go without opening the throttle ha works unreal.

The meth is on a switch, its either on or off and I notice the meth works great on long pulls up hill in deep snow. Really keeps the engine temps down, cant really relate to drag race applications as I hardly ever drag race.

Great info guys. Thanks for the responses. Be reading allot too. Something that I have been wondering about but haven't picked up on yet. If you are running a s/c or turbo and clutched for a certain rpm off nos, what happens when you hit the nos and gain a bunch of rpms in reguards to boost. Does the extra rpms give you more boost.

with a turbo set up you will have your boost set and the waste gate will open, at what ever set point you decide on so regardless of rpm you won,t exceed that boost setting, now I am not that familiar with the superchargers, but I would think it may be possible to gain boost with rpm as you have a set of pulleys which is direct drive based off rpm. so if you exceed that rpm you could gain some boost. but I would be sure there is enough safety margine in your set up as to not exceed the designed cfm or speed of your supercharger, I am sure somebody with more knowledge of the supercharger set up will correct me if I am wrong. you can do as MIKE did and set up the nitrous to come on until you reach a set boost level and then it shuts off, that would eliminate the over reving problem. I had mine set up on a push button and just held it open from the time I hit the throttle until the race was over. if I was racing other wise I used it as I needed.

Was talking to a friend of mine today. The question came up about the lack of a bov on a supercharger. Can anybody say if there would be a issue not running a bov on a supercharger. We got to wondering if you were wot and then get out of the throttle, would it take a bit before the motor would spool down.

Thanks again for the obviously well informed replies. I will be thinking about this for a while yet. Good to belong to a community that readily shares their knowledge with fellow members.
