Can the torsions be repaired ?

Center spring wore out, maybe. Do you have heavy steering?

Your sled uses 8JX-G7473-00-00 and 8JX-G7474-oo-00 torsion springs. 8JP-G7473-00-00 and 8JP-G7474-00-00 are torsions from 14-15Viper which are a stiffer spring and should work well if you are at max adjustment on your stock springs.

I have bent the SHORT leg on torsion springs to further adjust them to my liking. 5k miles with no problems. Hygear does this also.

i have arched the long leg at work for guys in the press with older sleds that the springs are obselete for but they only use them for fishing or going to camp.

No heavy steering that I recall.
In fact if the back is riding lower than normal , would't the steering be easier and not have as much pressure on the skis ?

I see your point but I am thinking too much weight on rear and front skis, due to weak center spring. I am just guessing though!
I put a new 160lb center spring (from cannondale) on this summer and had to relocate rear springs softer to get some sag. Also center spring made my front end much lighter

Yamaha accessories catalogue has the aluminum blocks that have 4 positions and #3&4 are making the spring tighter. #3 is more tension than stock and #4 adds even more. I have them on my winder on 3 and I weigh nearly 300lb dressed. Easy to replace.

Thanks for the info, I felt that my 18' has been soft since new. Luckily the factory high setting is about right for me. I've had the gas psi checked and raised a bit but no significant change. All my cats I've had with the same chassis would be on the low spring setting and still be firm.

I went online in both Canada and the U.S. and couldn't find that Yamaha part ?

I'm pretty sure Travis at BOP has them.

The part number is, SMA-8JP39-BL-00. I should have included it earlier. It's in the Viper section of accessories, same chassis.
