Need to charge up the battery, dont have the optimate charger but can a guy just trickle charge it and not damage the battery itself?
pretty much but you are better off using a smart charger like the battery tender that will drop to trickle or turn off when the battery reaches full charge. And if you use you auto charger make sure you put it on the lowest amp setting ........ the slower you you charge a lead acid or gel battery the better.

Of course you can use a standard charger. Does it have a timer? It doesnt need much charge, but once you get enough charge on it, take it out for a long ride and let it charge itself.

I used my charger on my sled and rhino the other day. Just put it on 2amp trickle charge and let it charge for about 2 hours just for a little boost. Starts great...

My understanding is that these are a "maintenance free" battery. Canadian Tire sells a charger with a switch for charging conventional batteries, or maintenance free and deep cycle batteries. Using a conventional charger will eventually ruin you battery.
