First weekend with my new Attak, thought I'd share my impressions after 70KM (about 40 Miles). Conditions were fairly cold, 10" of snow with little or no solid base.
1. Unbelievable power. Pulled instantly and extremely hard. Top speed I hit was only 70 MPH, but punching it at 50mph it would scream. Love the sound. Started and idled perfect every time. Great having the light that goes out when you're ready to move, idiot proof.
2. I was very pleased with the fit and finish, no complaints. Only thing I changed was the throttle position, I moved it down about 20 degrees.
3. I had some wicked darting. I know - shim the ski's, change the factory ski's, change the factory carbides, I read all the options. I chose the 6" dually carbides for now. Darting is considerably less, with more of a snow base I hope it's no longer an issue.
4. Thank god they're reliable - I hated having to remove all the shrouds to find you still can't even see the spark plugs.
5. Love the dash. Easy to operate, easy to read. Perfect.
6. Hand warmers worked "ok" for me. When it gets colder, maybe I'll change my opinion. Thumb warmers got really hot and I had to turn them down.
7. Ripsaw track is awesome. Hooks up nicely on the little hardpack I could find, no problem pulling the ski's with the transfer rod set at the middle.
8. Dealer support has been excellent throughout the entire purchase and delivery process, hats off to Orillia Motor Sports. Nice people, competitive price. And hell, their dog tries to bite my leg every time I enter, what more could you want.
Question.
I noticed a slight "rattle" coming from the front as I moved. It sounds like the windshield is loose. I checked and could not find the source. Any input from other owners would be appreciated.

Nice report, I have the same sled. Although I have not been able to ride it yet. Did you find it to be heavy at all?

Barrie huh? DAMN YOU for telling me that there's snow in Ontario when I can't go play in it until next week!

I'll be honest, I have nothing to compare it to. I've been out of the snowmobile game for a number of years. It's heavy when moving it around my shop, that's for sure. But I'll let others comment on the weight issue.

Sweet looking sled...congratulations on your choice. I am sitting near Ottawa with virtually no snow on the ground....the pictures are giving me riding fever.

Nice report so far. That is the color I would choose. The only thing it really needs is some type of tinted/colored windshield.
