Pinnin' it!
Please help me decide!!! anyone have pro/cons to each? reviews online don't seem to care for the XTX for trail manners which is majority of my riding. however i would like to put a 1.6 cobra track on which it already has!!
how do the rear suspensions compare to one another? is the XTX really more for off trail riding?

Im sure the xtx has gone through improvements over the years...but I hated the no action skid...and its heavy...but not necessarily heavy duty...to me the slide action 137 is way better...

How is the transfer on the xtx? Being uncoupled it should pivot back better.

If you never go off trail get the LTX. The XTX will have the fun factor... wheelie on demand, but as NOS has proven it's just as fast.

Depends on which model XTX.
XTX 137 LE has a coupled rear suspension!
XTX 137 LE has a coupled rear suspension!
the le can transfer as well as an xtx...just takes some fiddling...but to me an xtx will never ride or handle like a le in the tighter trails...
also...yamaha has confused some using the xtx in the 137 and 141
the 137 is basically the 137 le coupled slide action skid...the 141 is the uncoupled skid...

This was my biggest dilemma last Spring when purchasing. I'm 90% on trails (hopefully groomed. ) That fact and the shock package made me go with the LTX-LE. I'll add that no matter which you go with, you won't be disappointed.

I have the 137 xtx Le version and I love it, it's great on trail, awesome shock package and very capable off trail. I have apex 144 inch and turbo vector 153 inch skids and very worried about going back to the 137 skid length, but after having it I love the sled and recommend it to trail riders.

I wanted the LTX LE but all that was left was the XTX LE 137. I wanted a ice attack track so either sled was fine so instead of swapping out a 1.25 Ripsaw I swapped out a 1.75 back country. I wanted the QS3 shocks but didn't feel the need for the more expensive ones on the LTX LE so I saved 600 bucks and got the XTX LE 137. Basically my sled is the equal of the Thundercat as far as shocks and track goes and yes it is coupled. I know it doesn't transfer great but boy does it ride and handle awesome.

I've ridden both 137 and 141 in Viper platform quite a bit, and I prefer the 137. I ride off trail a lot, and have basically converted my LTX over to XTX-LE aside from the rear skid. 40" 16 front with 2" backcountry track. No problem with weight transfer when set up for it. I ride more off trail than on and love my LTX. For trail riding, the LTX is the way to go. If I was buying a new winder for off trail, it'd be a BTX. After riding XTX winder off trail a bit last weekend, I wasn't all that impressed. Seems that the XTX doesn't have enough track, and the 42" front end is too wide. The BTX however is a different animal off trail. Based on what you do most, I think you'd be happier with the coupled 137 and the 42" wide front end in the LTX, but I don't think you'd be terribly disappointed with either.
