Can't post my new Avatar!

I Can't post my new Avatar!
TY site says must be no larger than 165x165 pixels and less than 195KB JPG or PNG file.
I have tried a dozen times both file types and less than max size above.
I even tried a 100x80 pixel, 26KB file and it still said file was too large!
Help!
I have a Mac computer and an iPad
