I just can't seem to adjust the throttle play properly. I do manage to set the required 2 to 3mm play on the throttle and even give it 5mm and stays like that for a days ride and then somehow the cable Slack tightens and tors is activated. This is so frustrating.I don't want to bypass it in case I do need it and avoid being out of controll or even worse. I usually adjust the cable at the handlebar adjuster lock the nuts super tight both of them including at the throttle bodies.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Odd. Does the cable seem to move freely when not hooked to the lever?

You can try to set it with a dab of blue loctite, with the recom. 2-3mm. Because if the cable moves freely and you set it properly, the locknut has to be the culprit. Its not contracting that much with temp or anything. The weird part is you think it would loosen with vibration and use as the locknut rode the threads.

Sounds like a frayed or dirty cable?

Have you added an aftermarket handlebar riser? If you did, you might need a longer throttle cable.

Good point^ Does the free play remain there when you turn the bars from lock to lock? Not just setup in the centered position.

Yep.....when I installed a riser on my RX1 everything was fine with the steering straight but when I turned the steering to the left the idle would change and the tors would kick in. Is your throttle cable catching on something in the engine compartment maybe.

Forgot to mention its stock handlebar set up but I have the handlebars all the way forward maxed to that little stopper tab and also a handle bar bag loaded up with booster cables, rags, juice etc, I'm thinking now to maybe removing the bag it could be jarring the cable. As for the adjustment locking nuts they don't loosen off.

I think I found the problem, the black outer sheild came out of the metal jacket where it was once krimped into down by the engine. Thanks for all your help, maybe time for a new cable.
