What gives??? I loosened the locking nut on the rod control but can't turn the rod control itself with the supplied tool. Every time it slips and gauges the threads. Its set right now a little less than full minimum.

Once I loosened the lock nut I could turn the adjustment by hand very easily???

Not hacking but are you turning the right way? You may be maxxed out????

Take the load off the suspension, this helps too. I made some better tools out of thiker material for mine. If it's frozen it can be a problem also

I had trouble with the tool slipping off too, and ended up using a pair of channel locks to break it loose. Once I had it loose and adjusted, I spread anti-sieze on the mating faces and threads of the control rod.

I've since made further adjustments, and the rod subsequently breaks loose much easier with the tool.

Remove the transfer adjuster and put it in a vise. Heat the body with a propane torch (this will cause the body to expand), try turning the adjuster nut with a large pair of channel lock pliers or a pipe wrench. This may break it free. If it does come loose apply Quaker State wheel bearing grease as it is wax based and does not wash out like neversieze. The best antisieze I've ever used.
