Day 1
oing my routine maintenance and getting ready for winter snow. Taking the bowls off of the carbs and the last machine screw on the last bowl decides to behead itself. I'm left with 1/8th of an inch of machine screw in the carb. No biggie I'll extract it.
Day 2: take it in to a buddies shop to have it drilled out and extracted. No biggie... Get there and he doesn't have an extractor bit small enough for what's left of the tiny m4 screw. He says bring it down to his work the next day and he'll get her out.
Day 3: take it in to him at his work, he is able to extract it. All is well! Then I put the carb back in the plastic container I'd been transferring it around in and notice something doesn't look right on one of the carbs looking down. The opening into the carb from the main jet looks larger one one then the next three. This is where I start swearing.
One of the main jet nozzles has disappeared, so far it hasn't reappeared.
If any body has an extra carb set laying around, i'd love to buy the part off you! I'm in AK, and all of the yamaha part stores ship UPS whom only want to charge an exorbitant amount to ship a 1/4oz piece of metal to me ($55), they don't ship USPS priority.
In case you're curious, it's this part number: 8FA-14141-44-00
Moral of the story! Those are not pressed in as well as I thought they were, so be careful not to knock them loose!
