I would like to get some feedback on what is the best alternative to the different runner lengths 4" vs 6" vs 8". Does adding length to the carbides justify the cost and will turning performance improve?

Yes, and yes.
The length of carbide you choose equates to how many if any studs you have in your track.
I'd say 6" carbides with 96-120 studs and 8" carbides with 120 studs and above.

the stock vector carbides are trash.
a lot of people like "shaper" carbides.
i think they are made by stud boy.

I've tried many brands of bars..... I found that the new studboy duece bars are the best for my style of riding. I like solid straight line tracking with above average cornering ability. The duece bars are a cross between the best of the dooly's and the shaper bars....... MM.

Second the studboy shaper bars. These are the best ones I have had on my sled so far.
