I have c&A xpt skis on my 16 viper ltx-dx . The steering is very bard compared to the tuners. I am in the process of adjusting the center spring and front shock springs. It currently has stud boy shaper bars on that came with the ski kit when purchased new. I am considering woodys dooleys as a replacement to help lighten the steering and because its probably time after riding a long stretch of road shoulder not too long ago. Good idea? Bad idea? Any other recommendations appreciated!

I would suggest doing what you can with the suspension tuning before you drop money on carbides. May just be setup.

The dulley's will loosen it up a little but that is a pretty aggressive ski if your a trail rider.

Yea I know now. I didn't think they would be this hard to turn. I bought them because of how bad the tuners pushed in corners.

Lighten up your ski pressure by tightening your front skid shock. When I first put mine on it was a bear to turn actually hated them. Guys on here told me to adjust and it’s fantastic now. Don’t go crazy. Start with a full turn maybe 2. Ride a bit and adjust from there. You will be happy. They are aggressive but you will like them when suspension is set correctly. I run stud boy shaper bar 6 inch 96 studs. Hope that helps

Friend had shapers on his c&a’s and could never get the front lightened up. Turned great but would kill your shoulders. Outside ski would really load and sometimes high side.

I run slim Jim 6” carbides and pretty happy. Light steering , they handle all conditions, push a touch in bushy fresh snow but predictable and manageable

another friend put bergstrom triple points on his c and A’s. Tighten up centre spring and they felt great. They handles the loose snow Better than the slim Jim’s but on all other conditions i preferred the slim Jim’s

hope that helps

Tomorrow I am going to finish loosening my left front shock spring and then try again at tightening the front center spring.. No heat in the barn yet. Should be interesting! At least I finally have enough snow to test .

Tightened the center spring, loosened the front springs. Rides great !!! Thanks for all the info. Steering is way improved.
