Was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. Iam going to keep the stock skis for now, but I added a 144 zx2 skid in the rear. With the added traction would you recommend any changes to the carbides on the stock skis. I was thinking 6" or 8" doolys. Or possibly 7.5 stud boys, but Ive read on here the doolys are best for stock skis.
My setup is stock skis up front, a 144 zx2 skid in rear with a 144x1.25x15 predator track, not studded.
So my question is what would you recommend if anything. Trying to keep the price relatively low, around 100 bucks or so.
In all honesty I never had real bad darting with the stock setup, but with the added length and traction to the rear I figured I should do something up front also.
Thanks

but nothing really comes close to what I am looking at since I am not studding.

I am running Slydog Powderhounds with 8" Bergstrom Triplepoints, 144x1.5 Camo Crossover mounted on an ExpertX. Steers as good as it did when just a 136. Never used anything but Bergstrom bars, so I can't reply as to if the others would work or not.

I actually have some 6" doolys brand new if you decide on them. I too ditched the stock skis because they were "junk" then my dad with his stockers and doolys keeps up with my fancy skis in the corners just fine! If y new sled didn't come with slydogs I would put these doolys I have on and call it a day 121-144"
You have the track I want! Cant find that one anymore have to go cobra now and I really like the predator 1.25.

Yeah the track was hard to find. I was deciding between those two predator or cobra, except I didnt want to pay the price of the cobra. I found 1 predator on sale at an online store from a dealer in WI where I have bought parts from before. I was worried it would be gone before I could get the great deal. I paid 330 total for it.
Now as for the those runners, I want the doolys to be comparable to stock as in, drag and how fast they wear. BUT I want the added traction. So you think they are best for stock skis?
How about the studboy 7.5 shaper bars?

I only know the duallys from my dad he loves them to death. No darting ever, steers perfect, last forever. He didn't seem to lose any top speed but its hard to tell for sure or not because the conditions, sled, etc change so much year to year and we never put them mid year just the fall before and he has been on them for 4 years now and they still look new.

after much thought I figured to buy the slydog skis, just cant decide if I want the race skis or powderhounds. the price difference is like 60 bucks. I would also get the 6" shapers for it also.

Get the Powderhounds. Same keel but WAY more flotation for when you take an offtrail ride. Mine turn great and have'nt increased steering effort. My 2 cents worth LOL! And a shameless plug for Bergstrom's. YES, they are more upfront, BUT, they last a LONG time. Very good bite in the corners and no darting!! Another couple of pennies

You think the triple points is worth it? I cant see myself spending this much money one season off. Ive already did the zx2 skid swap which was alot. So iam trying to save as much as I can. $68 6" shapers vs the $160 6" triple point. My other expense this summer is a skid plate. I think this will put me around $450 max. Plus I was recommended that 6" shaper.
Any thoughts?

If you ride off trail and are trying to decide between spending cash on carbides or a skid plate, definitely go with the skid plate. Bad things can happen without one when riding off trail.
