After reading many of the forums I noticed almost everyone said the stock carbides are junk and to change them. My question and I would guess a lot of it is personnel choice but change to what. It seems everyone is sugessting 6 in carbides. I am studded and the dealer suggested the duellies and that they will elinate darting while inproving bite. I have also read that the shaper bars are good. Which do you suggest and why? :drink:

I ran the 6" dualies last season, I have 144 studs. They were great for eliminating darting.

I did feel however that they tended to push at times in the corners. Not sure if this is stictly related to the dualies or also due to the 144 studs and the 1-1/4 track.

I am going to try the shaper bars this year. I went with the longer 9" or 10" ones (I can't recall exact carbide length). We will see how they work out.

I just switched to Roetin XPR-1 6.5" . They are way better than stock.

Don't forget to look into Scott Bergstroms Tripple Points as far as I am concerned they are the best on the market. I went from 10" carbides to 8" tripples and it was a night and day difference around the corners and the 10" ones had less than 100 miles on them. Here is his web site they will not let you down. http://www.bergstromskegs.com/ :4STroke:
