Has anybody tried these. I know carbon fiber is strong but once it gets damaged it blows apart . I dont know if Im doing 60mph down a trail catch a rock and have my ski flop over that would suck.

Anyway Im wonder if anybody has used them and are they worth having ?

Never tried em, love to, but a little costly for me. As far as the "what if's", hitting a rock or stump with the stock ones meant complete replacement for me in the past, so I guess ya just try harder to not hit any rocks or stumps ! :jump:

True but Ive hit afew rocks and dinged my arms and even bent one once but I was able to limp home . Carbon fiber is strong but the epoxy is what holds the shape crack it and its worse then a dent in metal.

If you are mainly a trail or mountain guy these would be great,if you are going to boondock or off trail I would not reccomend the a-arms as Carbon fiber tends to shatter when hitting a rock, stock a-arms or chrome moly would be a more suitable material.

I think rightarm is right on the money. I work with aircraft and composite is very strong but any damage to it causes major problems trying to repair it is a pita. On the other siide of the coin is how light and rigid it is. How much do they cost??

They are around $1500 cdn, so about the same to your dollar now. I think the weight savings was 9lbs on the 03's only, then 04 & up have one alu a-arm, so the savings went down to 5 or 6lbs. I went with chrmoloy arms on my 03. If i was to build my mountain sled over again, i would just use stock and lose weight myself. But they do look cool, they also have built carbon fiber apex rails for the rear suspension.

The wheels on the other hand would be real cool, retain less snow, lighter and be alot stiffer and stronger than the problamatic wheels of the apex generation, would be a good replacement when your stockers blow out.Might even reduce some of that hyfax wear because of its stiffer design.
