The newer formulation of castrol syntec has very low quantities of zddp, thats bad. If you insist on castrol syntec, the one to use is I think something highW50, like 20W50 or something. Too heavy for this application.
Maxim is a great oil!

As many of you know Amsoil make a full synthetic powersports spacific oil. It is a 0w-40 and is fully wet clutch compatable and doesn't fall under the lower zinc/phosphorus guidlines. I also know how to get it for cheaper then at the stores.
Thanks guys I was asking because at walmart and canadian tire they don't have any mobil1 0-30 just 5-30.

Doesn't have to be 0W, 5W is also good, 10W in a pinch - though it may cause trouble if it is extremely cold out.

Actually the Castrol oil is better then Mobil one for wear protection. So if you HAVE to get one or the other I guess I would go with the castrol, but personally I would use the AMSOIL anyday.
I have some Amsoil 0-40 and was wondering if this would be good to use or is the 0-40 too heavy and should I be going to a 5 or 0-30 of some kind?
I have always used Amsoil 0w 40, however they superseded it with 0w 30 this year. It apparently offers even better protection, all the same we bought the last of his 0w 40 stock.

How do you get it cheaper than in stores? I am very interested in this after reading all of these threads about oil!SlowPoke said:As many of you know Amsoil make a full synthetic powersports spacific oil.
