Installed a cat suspension on a Mountain Max and keeps bottoming out, Have noticed that quite a few 4 strokes have theses skid so fiqure would ask you guys first. Spring tensioners maxxed out but just when the rear wheel is loaded (going thru a dip) bottoms hard. New Spring / shock revalving? If new spring does Cat have numbers for reference to weight?

Thx

Had cat's for over 30 years. What shock are you using? Fox, Ride FX, ACT? How old is the shock? Has it been rebuilt lately? What version of cat suspension are you using? Are you using the old Springs? They can go weak after a few years and you may have a bit more weight on them than they were designed for. And, ... even when things are all working O.K., you can still hit bottom occasionally.

Cat skid

Skid is a 04 M series 136 in a 144 application. Shocks have ACT stamped on them. When I am on the throttle there is no bottoming just when going slow. Would suspect skid is not designed for the application also just wondered where to start to stiffen up. The skid is definetly a plus in the powder.
