Yama-crazy,
I gave the dealer a list of items that needed some adjustment. Parking brake was not engaging firm enough, so they tightened it up too.
Worn weights, I too am at a loss, dealer found worn weights and associated the wear with some vibration in the clutch. Works for me. It was covered.
The carb cleaning issue: My Pilot jets got gummed up over the summer while the sled was in storage. I noticed a trend with others experiencing the same problem.
I made the case: I did everything by the book by fogging the engine, stabilized the fuel etc, etc. Yet the pilot jets gummed up.
My point, Yamaha needs to come up with better RS series motor summer storage procedures, such as draining the fuel tank and the bowls in the carbs and possibly leave it dry. If not, year after year the same result is going to occur.
Ergo not out of my pocket $$$. So my dealer picked up the labor/cleaning cost.
Pilot jets are much smaller in a 4 stroke motor than 2 smokes, and gum up much easier.
Yamaha can blame it on gasoline shelf life of two weeks, additives varnishing up etc. O.K. Yamaha, then find a solution to the summer storage problem. We should not have to pay for a storage problem. Yamaha should have
answers not excuses.
Its the little things like that, where the dealer is willing to go the extra mile, that gives me the customer satsfaction I personally am looking for.
The dealer knows I will be back.
Yamaha expects to be the industry leader in the next four years. If so, they need to raise the bar to an all around higher standard.
