RXWonder: Come on. did I give you an exsample of how to reattach the seat when you removed that heat shield. See this a is the problem with people. I didn't realize I had to list each heat shield and say remove or not remove. I figured common sence would prevail on that.
Well to be honest....before buying the aftermarket exhaust I have never had any reason to remove the seat.....I never knew that the heat shield actually keeps the seat attached to the sled.... :?
What makes you think I would know this....??You know I have no exhaust running out the back on my turbo RX-1 but the that heat shield is still there because it holds the seat in place.
Bottom line here...what is considered common sense to some is not always "common knowledge" to others.
Thanks.
If someone makes this change they will discover on there own that you can't remove that heat sheild because it needs to be there for the seat. So I shouldn't have to be specifiy that in my posts, due to the fact you'll find this out on your own if you ever make this change.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I run mine on asphalt with the GP1 exhaust, up to 240 degree temps, and my but gets warm. I would never remove any protection from that area. (groin)

jtssrx....I'm not as knowledgable on these things as you are but you got me thinking.....now I am curious....which heat shield do you think was removed from touched's picture that caused all that damage??? :? :?
To be honest I have no Idea. If I have to guess I'd say the seat heat shield we are talking about. Who says one was removed at all. IT might have just gotten to hot. Maybe it has a rear mount turbo I don't know what caused it.
I'm not trying to judge ones knowledge of the sled. I assumed one one know about the heat sheilds if they were making or have made an upgrade in the rear half of the exhaust.
