I was riding my 08 nytro fx last night and blew a belt it peeled of the top layer. While changing it I noticed the secondary turned about an 1/8 to 1/4 turn without moving the track. When you stop there is a clunk when I hit the gas again. The track ratchets when in powder but its seems tight as far as track sag. Is this normal or do I have some serious issues?

Unless your chain is super loose I would be concerened that the secondary has play on the jackshaft, it should have free play perpendicular to the jackshaft (with the bolt done tight). But there really shouldn't be any free play in the chaincase, check the tension, tighten the bolt by hand then back off a quarter turn.

Yes it normal to have free play because of the rev. gear not going to hurt anything and thats not causing belts to blow to much heat causes that check your clutch set up . Ride it for a while when you stop pull side cover and feel the clutches and see whitch one is warmer and adjust from there

Yup, you should be able to 'hold" your hand on them without burning or anything. If they are to hot to the touch, you need to adjust.
How many shims can be added to the secondary (total thickness) ?
