ok here is the numb question.... which side of the dipstick do I read when checking the case oil level if I have reverse? I just drained it and when after adding some I noticed that the "with reverse" side reads good, but the standard side reads low... what should I pay attention to? what would happen if one ran too much lube in the case??

if you have reverse you read the side that says reverse.

250ml written on belt guard...I always use a measuring cup and fill to 250ml and dump it in, it ends up a little over STD. mark

No negative effects from overfilling.
EXCEPT FX Nytro.
Nytro chaincase spec is less, only 200cc. If you put in 250cc it can cause oil to push out and leak.

... which is the limit of the negative effects. Not going to hurt anything, just make a little mess.
