Doing some "repair" work on my RX-1ER. So far the chain case cover doesn't want to come off. Looing at posts on reverse install it appears that the 6mm bolt in the center has to come off, I didn't do that. Any other tricks I need to know? Any need to put in in forward or reverse? I realize this is the APEX side, but I'm guessing those who know are here.

did you pull the key out of the Jackshaft? Yes you have to pull that 6mm bolt out as well

Yes, pulled the keyway. Tried prying a bit but did not want to force anything. I didn't remove the 6mm bolt, will do so tonight.

I have a 03 RX-1 service manual for sale if that helps. I'll take a look at it after work today and get back to you.

You might want to spray so lube on the shaft. In my opinion that shaft gets hot from the brake and metal swells which makes the fit tight. You might have to pry it off.

So far I can't even get the halves to separate, I thought maybe the pieces were dowel pinned for alignment. I'll be the 6mm bolt makes the difference. Find out tonight.

They are doweled for alignment. Also make sure to remove the bushing between the brake rotor and the upper chaincase cover bearing. You'll need to loosen the torx screw and it should slide right off.
