How did you change the track without removing this bolt?
Obviously it's broken and he never noticed, if he doesn't remember torquing it out or in.
Obviously but how could ya not notice it??
I'll tell you why. It's a RTX with no reverse! Wanna play betcha?

mustve been busted, but i see lots of guys running without it so im not worried probly broke the first time i hit the throttle anyways.

Great input, thanks guys. :rocks: I'll go back after it this weekend. Sure am glad that bolt head wasn't floating around in the case or that could be ugly.
I don't think the bolt head could float around in the chaincase?? At first I couldn't find it either when I took my case apart but after a little search it was resting inside the "collar" (#71 in the fiche) It is sandwiched between the case cover and this collar, could wear the case cover though, heard of that happening.

After reading your post I went and checked and sure enough my bolt head was in that shaft too. I see now why raginyamaha didn't see there was a bolt. That collar sits in the bearing on the case and doesn't fall out. I did the same thing, I was using the directions as a guide but working ahead because some things are easy to figure out so u skip ahead. My bottom gears just came off with the top. I didn't find the broken bolt in the shaft until I was putting the gears back on the shaft. Well anyway radianguy nice eye and thanks, that was a good find.

I was baffled when I took my cover off and saw the bolt was broke but couldn't find it?? I asked the guys at the dealer and they said it's got to be in there, I said any chance it could have gotten chewed up by the gears? Not without destroying everything they said! I was stumped, then I found it sitting there in the collar in the cover. Lucky it was in there I'd say, that would have been a mess if it had gotten loose.
