What are you guys running for chaincase oil in your sidewinders? I usually run the amsoil synthetic chaincase and gear oil. But when I went to pick up a bottle the guy at the counter recommended I try the amsoil 80:90 synthetic gear lube, he figured it would be better for riding up the chain and keeping the upper bearing better lubricated, he said the other chaincase lube is prettt runny. I was just wondering if anyone has ran this in there chaincase, I figured it maybe a little heavy for those really cold days. Interested to hear some opinions.

Might not be a bad idea! The engine oil is attached to the chain case so I don't think it stayed cold very long, that and the exhaust is right in front of it.

I've run the amsoil 80 90 severe gear in my viper for 8000 plus miles without problems

Been using 75w-90 synthetic gear oil for all my sleds for years, no issues

Good point, you are right is should be fine, I always let the sled sit and idle a bit to get up to operating temps so it should definitely help thin that gear lube up a bit. I will probably run some of the amsoil 80w-90 synthetic gear lube and see how it goes, I don't see having any issues with it.
