So I picked up a 2019 xtx LE 141. It has mountain spindles in it now and would like to change to the normal spinals. Is it as easy as just swapping them out?

Are you concerned about strength? Those mountain spindles look sweet, I had always hoped they would put something similar looking on the trail sleds.

No I was hoping it would make it a little wider. It is 40 inches. The spindals look like they turn in. Plus I personally don’t like them.

I agree, I don’t like the mountain spindles either; and I also don’t like the look of the mountain seat either..just my opinion...no offense intended.

Nice looking machine..congratulations on your new sled.

Were you posting on the AC/Sidewinder FB page too? That sled looks mighty familiar.

Back to the question at hand - I had no trouble riding the 40" ski stance and mountain skis. My '19 XTX LE handled better than my Viper XTX with the trail spindles and Cat skis. Additionally, you can swap out the spacer in the ski to increase the stance. Off the top of my head, it's adjustable between 40" and 42", which is identical to the trail sleds. Personally, I'd recommend just riding it and seeing what you like or don't like. You'll probably end up being pleasantly surprised.

Before you jump ship on the spindles, I'd recommend giving the sled a ride first. When I picked up my '19 XTX LE, I thought it was going to be tippy compared to the 'trail' front end on my previous Viper XTX - I was pleasantly surprised as I think it actually handles better. Additionally, the ski stance is still adjustable - off the top of my head, the narrow setting is 40" and the wide setting is 42" (which is identical to the 'trail' front end). I honestly doubt that you'll ever notice a difference and it's not like you can see the spindle while you're riding (which is something I know I'd rather be doing regardless of how good that sled looks)!

If you're still set on replacing the spindles, you'll need upper and lower A Arms for both sides, spindles for both sides, and new ski mounting rubber. Not the worst thing in the world - but the money for that could go towards a weekend of riding.

Thanks that is what I needed to know.

What's the length of that snowflap and does it have the straps that connect to the tunnel (doesn't look like it, but the picture won't zoom)?

I was able to zoom in on it, it’s not the stock flap, and it doesn’t have any straps that I could see on it....???

I remember the snowflap from the Facebook post this was originally from (I believe it's a PDP flap). I'd like to put it on my 'Winder, but I'm curious of the dimensions since their website is fairly confusing.

I love the stock flaps on our Winders actually.

Personally, It’s the best looking flap hands down that I’ve ever seen on a sled imo. The detail and visual design is super sharp. The Cats flap looks cheap compared to the winder’s. But that’s just me.

I think the flap actually looks pretty sharp, but I've found it to be an absolute pain in the a** when trying to lift the bumper while digging it out (because let's be honest, we've all buried out sleds at one point or another). Also, my track throws snow like a jet ski on water and I'd like to find a longer flap that calms that down a little bit.

I get what you’re saying...I try hard not to sink it lol, but it does happen sometimes...and I understand your point totally.

My buddy had that same sled last year and loved it. Does yours come with the high end QS3 shocks like his did?

I second/third/fourth the comments on the the handling with the 40" stance. I couldn't tell a difference on my 153 BTX. It works well not tippy in the least. I was still cornering harder then ski doo XRS's in a 137" or whatever they are. At least for the 300 miles I put on before it broke.
