My buddy is puitting a new 1.25 rip saw on his 03 RX-1 what does he ahve to do? Does he need to add added tunnel protectors to go with 1.325 studs?? The skid is out and the track is off so what does he need to do now?? Can he just put the track in and the studs and let it go or what?? I never did that to my sled so I don't know. He does not have access to internet so he can't ask TY for help

Put it in and rock & Roll. Teh only time you need to add extra tunnel protectors is if you install a different pipe. I put the Hauck pipe in and the silencer is in the pipe rather than behind the seat wich makes it stick down closer to the track in the center and there is no protective plate on it like the stock exhaust. I did run the 1.25 with 1.375 woodies prior to the pipe and had no trouble.

Did the very same thing to my 03 RX1, same track with the same studs and works awsome no problems.. enjoy.... :D :D :D

These are all good replies but considering you have the skid out and all, might as well go get you some 1" wide x .25" thick strips of aluminum and add to the existing tunnel protectors. Nice cheap piece of assurance knowing that if your track ballons or whatever you are covered. Here are some pics I obtained from this site when doing mine. I believe these might be BBY.

Do the strips. It'll take you both about a hour or less to put them in. Give me a call.

At least you HAVE help! :moon:

Is that heat exchanger polished!??!?? If so, that has to be Cubby.

Actually, if I'm not mistakened, he put these strips on his 03 before it ever had any miles on it.
