Clear Trail Tank install on standard Nytro, pictures

Hey guys. Want to give you a heads up on changes to our tanks. We are now including thumb screw assemblies instead of philips screws to replace the Dzus fasteners. A better alternative. Also, we include new orings for the fuel pump and sending unit to avoid the issue of having to freeze or wait for your originals to return to the proper size.

As of this week, we will be installing our own heat shield tape to the bottom surface of the Nytro tanks. WE HAVE NOT had any issues reported, but this will make many people feel better about the purchase. If any of you who have purchased our tank would like the thumb screw assemblies and/or the heat shield kit, contact us at info@trailtank.net and we will get them to you free of charge.

Thanks guys!

Seth

Seth has great customer service  My inlaws bought me a new black tank, and the gaskets didn't show up. So I PM'D him and he said he would send them right away. Thanks for all of the great sevice Seth, Bill :-o

Anybody have a problem getting the trailtank to sit low enough in the steering hoop so the hood plastic holes line up. Looks like the stock cooler tubes may be in the way a little.

HELP I"M GOING CRAZY. It's taking me longer to get the tank on then the tunnel

Do a search, I know I read something about people having to coax the tank in place. There were a few tricks to make it easier to get in place. I figure it would be quicker and more helpful to read it all, rather then me search and post a few clips.

I've read all that I can find on here and SW. Used the hammer, layed a shoulder in it, Had 2 people put some weight behind it and i can get it to sit lower.

I know about the MCX fit issue but my charge tube is not in the way.

I have to have it fit good as I am going with a BR Tech hood which i believe may not have as much flex as the stock hood.

I gotta be doing somethign wrong

I also saw your post on Snowest. My vent nozzle was very close, in fact, I remember I removed it and after I got my tank on I reinstalled it. Has your sled been rolled? Mine was and I had a lot more trouble getting my tank to fit than did my buddy with his RTX. I even had to bend my radiator brackets forward as they had been pushed back.

Did you reuse the stock heat shield material. The heat shield that now comes with the Trail Tank is thinner than stock.

Unless your steering hoop is squashed down from a wreck or some of your aftermarket turbo parts are interfering, the tank will go on.

You did make sure your wiring harness is out of the way, right?

ok got it on... well kind of.

how taut is your hood plastic?

I have no heat shield and loosened and moved the wire harness forward. The throttle bend is in the tank slit.

I have to spend a little more time lining up my hood than I did with the dzus fasteners. I'd say it is a little bit more taut than stock.

Don't you need the heat shield? I would at least get the thinner one from CCLLC.
