Cluster harness compatabilty

Hi again, my buddy has an extension for the cluster gauges, it has 12 pins, same as mine. This extension enables the user to run the engine with the hood off the sled. Wondering if since the pin configuration is the same, any harm in trying it?

Found my answer, this particular extension cable doesn’t fit my 2015 Viper. The slots on the outside don’t perfectly line up.
