Is it possible to get themto clean? I used a green pad and brake cleaner to clean my pimary and secondary clutch and just used a green pad and hot water to scuff in my new belt. After putting it back together the new belt squeeled. Then I took it for a test ride and the rpms were way low. I then put the old belt back on and no more squeel the RPM were better, but not the same as they were before. It dogs out of the hole 9800 and ends up at 10,500. Before the cleaning it was perfect 10200 climbed to 10400.

New belt=wider= better squeeze on the clutches& lower rpm,s
Used belt=thinner=more slip=higher rpm,s.

Cleaning the belt & clutches

Would it be best to use rubbing alcohol instead of the brake cleaner for the clutches?

Read on this site to use warm soapy water to clean the belt.

For your belt, just wash with hot water and soap. On your clutch sheaves, only use Acetone. Brake Kleen is ok, but it will leave a residue. Acetone works the best...BBY
