Did a long hard UP trip after the clutch fix. Clank is gone and is staying that way. Still had a VERY slight rattle if you really listen but it is 90% better. Praise to Yamaha but also shame for beating up my dealer. He is a great guy. I posted the FIX info that he gave me and he got in trouble for it. This is horrible.

Yamaha factory reps please read!!!!!!!!
This forum is a place where we share info and help each other.
DO NOT take info from here and punish your dealers, especially a great one who went way out of his way to make sure I was a happy Yamaha customer. We like your products, but dont piss us off with this kind of crap!!!!!! Use your brains and stop hiding things where your priority is to just be politically correct. This way we can all be a team and everybody, INCLUDING YAMAHA benifits!!!!!!!! Again, this is a forum where we share info and help each other.

Tork yami is watching this site and sent Bob a note on this issue, he is getting his little guy slapped for giving you this info. He had a copy sent to him off the pages on this website with you and me and others talking about it. lol, Be nice if they would just fix the things and not try to hide about the apparent problems. Once again STEP UP YAMI and fix the little things that are wrong with the sleds! Getting old listening to the competitors having problems and getting them fixed no charge and we always take it in the A$$ and pay for our updates, if ya want a list I am sure we can get a short one for ya that are reoccuring with all sleds which according to you have never run across. OK now I will come off my high horse.

DO NOT take info from here and punish your dealers

Tell me about it. It also helps sell sleds.

I was looking for both a sled and a dealer. One isn't too useful without the other. This forum, including your experience, helped me make up my mind on both!

Come on Yamaha.

On Doo Talk, BRP engineers contribute to the discussions.......

How about some of that here.

yamaha I switched from ski doo because i wanted a quality product and their failure to listen and take responsibility to quality problems

do not punnish your dealer for doing the right thing

Hey Tork-
Did you notice if the kit took care of the clutch noise at low to mid RPM or did it just help at idle? Just got my kit from my dealer. Thanks

Was on the phone with Yamaha yesterday and they told me if you contact your service manager they can call Yamaha and Yamaha will authorize the repair. Ladies name in Yamaha was Danielle. I will wait until after the season for my fix but just a heads up for the rest of you.

lost

Tork, I've gotten lost over all the posts with the different type "fixes" for this. What was your final fix? My dealer said Yammy was reshimming at no charge on a one time only customer satisfaction deal.

I'm going to wait till the end of the season, but want to have my ducks in a row.

Yamaha,

I know you hate it when people trash you or your products online, so I'm willing to appologize for it.

I'm sorry

But I certainly wish you were willing to help us out more. The things that Tork's dealer did are "Dealership of the year" material. Not "Discrace of the Year" stuff. Sometimes an honest word or a handshake, goes allot further, and is better than a bottom-line. If I can get my clutch to stop clanking and clunking I'd be happy too. I don't think it should have to be a big secret though. If it weren't for this forum :rocks: , the people I've met, and the information I've been able to obtain about your product, on this forum, I'd still be trashing my own RX-1 and Yamaha.

You should be glad that dealers are willing to put their neck's out for a customer like that. I'd be more apt to remember that my dealer sells Yamaha's. So if I buy another sled, well I'd rather buy a Yamaha from my dealer because he goes out of his way. Does this not sound favorable to you? As the manufacturer, you have done, and are doing nothing for me in that respect.

You should be releaved to know that I haven't totally written you off as a mistake, or error in judgement on my part too. Again, it took the power of the internet to help me enjoy my RX-1, which at one time I thought was a total piece of junk (I'm being formal here). Unfortunately, I'm still worried about my "W-arm" breaking again though, unless I re-inforce it.

Finally, I can assure you that I am looking forward to future lines of Yamaha snowmobiles. For me, the 4-stroke IS the future, and it's by far the most enjoyable on a long trek. I was a Polaris die-hard since the XLT and I can honestly say that I have put more miles, in fewer seasons on your snowmobile than anyother I've ever owned. Although I've had more frustration with the RX-1, it's still a sled that I expect to keep longer too.

With that in mind, I can also finally say, Thank You. Thanks for venturing into this teritory and producing one of the best snowmobiles I've ever had.

Well put Tork, hopefully Bob won't get in trouble now for telling us he got in trouble, man he just can't win. lol

Tork and Thumper, Well said. Bob has always been behind us buyers and does what it takes to make us satisfied customers. He is one of the reason's I stuck with Yamaha through some rough sled years.

Yamaha you should be wise to take care of dealers that take care of the guys that spend their hard earned cash. Dealer treatment is one of the main reasons we return year after year to buy your products. It not always about the machines its the SERVICE that keeps me coming back. Remember that or I can spend my cash somewhere else (Doo,Pol,Cat). Don't make me doo it!

I also just bought a rage from bob partly from the high praises on this site and also beacause the dealer 10 min from my house doesn't seem to care about selling sleds and also I hate neilson's.So to give a guy grief trying to make a difference for us all is BS!!! We all ride yami's because we have a passion about being on the most advanced and reliable sleds built!
