I have a 05 Vector with clutch noise. Its seems like I have read on here that there is a clutch repair kit from Yamaha that will correct this problem. Is that true? If there is, what is the part # ?

Re: clutch
Hartman recommends replacing the entire primary clutch with a Polaris P-85. That is the best answer I found last year after calling multiple dealers.

Re: clutch
I am really leaning towards getting one of these P-85 clutches from Hartman but I am worried about how hard it's going to be to tune it properly. I really don't want to have to start buying multiple helixes and springs to get it tuned correctly...Anyone else tried this setup before????

I would look for a nice, used P-85 if you want to give it a try. They can be found for a lot less $$ than the $600 or so Hartman wants for a P-85 (I think that is what he quoted me last year). The only modification necessary is a shim which you can get from Hartman for something like $10 I believe. I don't remember where the shim goes, if it is a spider shim or something different. If I find a nice used clutch this year I'll probably try it out. If it doesn't work out I am sure I can sell the clutch for basically what I paid for it (assuming I find one at a good price).

Yes, I have a "Grunt" tool, just wondering where the "O" rings go. Plus I would have thought that there should have been 6 sliders.
Your dealer can put your vin# in the puter to see if the kit was done as a service bullitin repair. they were doing them for free...not sure if you had to get it done under warranty of not, but i don't think so.
the noise is only noticable at idle in your garage, so i quit runnin mine in da gradge and now I just run the snot out of it on the snow with no further noise or problems

I figured out how to do this repair. If I would have set the parts out and looked at all of the parts in the package, I would have figured it out. I did call my dealer, no go on warranty, but he did give me the directions. Clutch is done, noise gone.
Thanks

Installed the slider kit in the primary clutch, it really did tighten up the "spider" and with the "O" ring dampner, the noise is gone.
