Clutch noise repair.

The sled I'm working on is an 05 Vector. Looks like the update was done on 06 and newer. It still has some lite noise, but NOTHING like knocking that was going on. Sounded like the rods were comming thru block.

Rx1 Mtn...did you have to use the grunt tool? If so where did you get it and how much $ if you dont mind? I have the kit, just need to install it. Mine sounds like a diesel!

I do not have a grunt tool, but my buddy has 1 that I always use. I do not know the brand or how much it cost, I do know that he has had it for MANY years.

..did the o-ring kit but the noise comes back after a while; just as with new buttons. I came up to agree that shimming before & at middle season is the only way to keep me happy. I made my own tool and use either bud can, pepsi can or whatever thickness can fit underneat the buttons.

Consist of a base that i secure in the vise on which the clutch fits the 3 prong. Clutch can be secured with strap if need be.. i don't.

The other part is a 1" (i think) box tool from 1/2" set with 3 hard steal welded leg that fits in the clutch arm. The box must be big enought so to fit onto the shaft for stability. What you do not see it the 1/2" ratchet + 3' pipe required to loosen the clutch. (clockwise please... that is reverse way)

To screw back on, i use a torque wrench.
