i put a ulmer kit in and i went for a small ride now the belt is like slipping and making noise in the clutch. it slips going slow but when i hammer it it comes out of it sometimes. the belt is brand new also. what can i do

need more info on the noise and have you checked you center to center and offsets?
Im assuming the clutch kit is installed / setup properly...so
is it like a whistling or squealing noise? mostly at idle?
if so belt might be a tad to tight....remove the secondary clutch...there are three small bolts ....remove them....remove the washers and save for later...reinstall the studs...belt will sit slightly lower in the secondary and your squeal willl be gone....after some miles as the belt wears....add the washers back in to tighten up for the width you've lost...

When you tightened the secondary for the new secondary spring & helix did you go clockwise? it should have been fairly hard to twist it to line up the holes.

i put it in the 6-3 position and i believe i did go clock wise but it wasnt real hard to wind up. and there is play in the secondary. but it doesnt do it at idle its when i take off its a whistling-grinding noise.

6-3 should been a bear to wind....take it off and rewind.....

It should be like this to wind it. Wind it clockwise rotation to the next set of posts.
