In a STOCK motor using HIGHER than 87 octane will DROP RPM'S and performance, I had a drop in rpm's in my '05 RX1 when using 91 octane and didn't beleive guys telling to use 87 and I would get back within spec so I drained my tank out and refilled it with 87 and sure enough she gained 400 +/- rpms! for those that always fuel at the same station try switching to a different 1 and see if you have any impovement, some stations have crappy fuel! its worth a try.
