I am thinking about going from the ulmer clutch kit to the SBM Stg II. The ulmer clutch kit did wonders WOT or any throttle near it, but I found out that I rode more with gradual on/off than just hammering it between corners. Riding with the clutch kit reminds me of driving an auto with a high stall converter being mushy down low, but when you jump on it it smacks you. I tried to adding weight to the heel and middle position in an attempt to make it not rev up so quick, but no luck. I keep hearing the SBM in referenced to using the tq of the motor vs letting it rip at high rpms so I'm thinking of trying that kit. Any one have any input? I also am thinking of getting rid of the excell header and just keeping the k&N's in an attempt to gain back some low rpm tq to go along with the SBM clutch kit.

I put Apex rollers (14.5mm) in the primary and a Pink-Yellow-Pink spring. It is smooth around the gas pumps, grabs the belt harder under WOT. Canoehead, another guy on the site and me played with springs and other stuff last winter and this was the set up. We are both bigger guys and this set up brings out the best in the Nytro. All this is stock Yamaha parts and it is less then $80.

I had great results going with the SBR kit. I believe it is the stage II. The grunt down low is awesome. I am running K&Ns and Hindle exhaust with it.
