Hey Guys
I am currently running a Hauck #6 clutch kit with 23/38 gearing on my 03 136" Rx-1. Any feedback on this set up. I am thinking of gearing down some more but not sure how much?? As far as the Hauck kit, have any of you had any experience with it?? Any help would be awesome.

With the 40 would I also have to replace with a different chain? My goal is to regain the top end i lost when I extended my track, any suggestions on the best way to achieve this.

Hmm, well gearing down isn't going to gain you any top end, but it certainly will gain you bottom end. Clutching will gain you top end.

Chain length chart:
Chain 17T 18T 19T 20T 21T 22T 23T
38T --------- 68L 68L 68L 68L 70L
39T ---- 68L 68L 68L 68L 70L 70L
40T 68L 68L 68L 68L 70L 70L 70L
41T 68L 68L 68L 70L 70L 70L 70L
42T 68L 68L 70L 70L 70L 70L

Note: the missing length for 23/42 is 72L, which is not available from OEM, but IS available aftermarket (ie, royal distributing), or possibly from a different OEM, like polaris. 23/40 will be fine with 70L.

LOWERING TOP GEAR WILL GIVE YOU MORE TOP END. THIS IS A 4 CYCLE NOT A TWO CYCLE. LOWER TOP GEAR GIVES MORE TOP END , TO A POINT, DEPENDING ON WHAT ELSE YOU YOU HAVE DONE.

I HAVE AN 03 RX1 W/ REVERSE. CAN NOT CHANGE BOTTOM.
ALSO USING PATS CLUTCH , BUT PUT BUSHING KIT IN SO CAN USE POLARIS WT. ARMS. GROUND TO 34.6 GRAINS WT. TO GET HOLDING RPMS TO 10500.
HAVE PUT SLEEVES OVER MY ROLLERS TO GIVE ME A BETTER HOLE SHOT . ALSO REMOVED THE 2 CYCLE SPRING FROM DRIVE CLUTCH , PUT A 4 CYCLE SPRING IN IT.

I RUN A 21 TOOTH ON TOP .

I USE A PARAGON SECONDARY CLUTCH, PAT'S EXHAUST, CAM GEARS, CDI BOX, HEAD FIX.

I INSTALLED THE A.D. BOIVIN EXPERT X SUSPENSION.

FULL THROTTLE TACHS. TO 10500 RPMS, PULLS SKIS 4-6" OFF GROUND , HITS 106 MPR IN 600 FEET.

MAY NEED A LITTLE MORE TWEEKING.

MY 35 YEARS OF RIDING AND FIXING ALSO GIVE ME THE EDGE OVER MANY.

PS. BECAUSE OF THE STATOR LIMIT , IF YOUR RACING TURN YOUR HOT GRIPS DOWN TO MAKE SURE YOU GET FULL POWER TO YOUR COILS.

hmmmm make no sense to me? 21 tooth top gear should only be good for like 90 mph

Its actually good for 104.42 or 109.64 at 10500 rpm. Its a cheapass and inefficient way to get there though.
